Extracting mp3 audio from FLV files using VLC

1. Open VLC

2. From the Media Menu choose “Convert/Save”

3. Click Add, and browse to the FLV file.

4. Click convert/save.

5. Under Destination file choose “Browse”

6. Choose Location you want to save.

7. Type the new filename adding the .mp3 extension.

8. Under Profile, choose AUDIO-MP3

9. Press the toolbox and go to Audio Codec tab to choose Mp3 and the bitrate you want (default is 128kbps, you may want 256kbps)

10. Click save (for the toolbox dialog) and Start. The status bar is moving as if it’s playing. When it stops, the file is ready.

11. Find you file and play! 

Sometimes it may work better if you add .ogg to your filename and choose AUDIO-OGG under the profiles, you can later convert an OGG to MP3 or AAC later...
