When VPN causes 100% CPU, unresponsive mouse & keyboard.

It's because Microsoft Security Essentials (antivirus) is scanning the C:\windows\tracing folder.

What to do.

Wait as long as it takes for the proccess to finish.
It can take many minutes, up to half an hour depending on your configuration.
Just wait, go for a walk or something.

After that, open a command prompt AS ADMINISTRATOR and run the command

netsh ras set tracing * disabled


Now you may delete all the contents of the C:\windows\tracing  folder and enjoy your VPN
